Barça Academy U-17 vs. RSL-AZ South

The U-17s opened the day of competition against RSL-AZ South, a team they shut out 4-0 on back in September. The U-17s saw chances for Amin Sidialicher and Luka Polic in the opening 20 minutes of the game but it was RSL-AZ South who opened the scoring in the 21st minute. RSL-AZ would add two additional goals within five minutes of the first one and took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Sidialicherif, Polic and Quinn Grantham created chances for Barca Residency Academy in the first 20 minutes of the second half but could not convert in the early goings of the second half. An RSL-AZ South player committed a handball foul in the box and Luka Polic put the penalty kick away to bring the score to 3-1.

In the 85th minute, Liam Hogg found Luka Polic who put another past the keeper to make it 3-2 with five minutes remaining in the game. RSL-AZ South held strong for the final minutes of the game and beat the U-17s 3-2.

Barça Academy U-19 vs. SC del Sol

The U-19s who are undefeated in league play, 5-0-0, faced SC del Sol to earn their 6th shutout win of the season.

The game was a high-intensity affair from start to finish with the opening ten minutes seeing chances from both sides. Jesus Virgen opened scoring in the 20th minute of a free kick that stunned the keeper from 20 yards out. After a physical first half, the U-19s were on top of SC del Sol 1-0.

The second half was the opposite of the first half, with not many chances for either team. At the end of 90 minutes, Virgen’s first-half goal was enough to beat SC del Sol 1-0 and remain top of the table in the Arizona Premier League.
