For the second consecutive season, all four of Barca Residency Academy’s MLS NEXT teams have clinched a spot in the postseason. For the first time in Barca Residency Academy history, all four teams have won the MLS NEXT Southwest Division and secured an automatic MLS NEXT Cup Playoff bid.
The 2024-25 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase—the pinnacle of the season—will take place June 14–22 at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn. The event brings together the top 32 teams in each age group (U15, U16, U17, U19), with 16 qualifying through division standings and 16 earning their place by winning their group at MLS NEXT Flex, which runs May 9–14 in Boyds, MD.
Barca Residency Academy is one of just four academies to have a team qualify for the playoffs in all four age groups, alongside FC Dallas, Sacramento Republic, and Strickers FC. Achieving this feat for the second consecutive season is a huge accomplishment for the academy and a testament to the consistency and quality of the program.
