Alumni Isaac Emojong and Koven Johnson Drafted in 2026 MLS SuperDraft

Two standout members of the Class of 2024, Isaac Emojong and Koven Johnson, have been selected in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, continuing Barca Residency Academy’s proud tradition of developing elite, professional-level talent. After impressive NCAA sophomore seasons, both midfielders saw lifelong dreams realized as they took the next step in their soccer journeys.

Emojong was selected as the first pick of the second round (31st overall) by D.C. United after a strong two-year career at Utah Valley University. Johnson followed in the third round, going 70th overall to the Colorado Rapids out of High Point University.

A native of Davis, California, Emojong enjoyed a breakout 2025 season, leading Utah Valley in goals with six while adding two assists for a team-high 14 points. He became just the third underclassman in program history to score at least six goals in a season—and the first to do so since 2015. His performances earned him Second Team All-Far West Region and Second Team All-WAC honors.

Emojong made an immediate impact upon arriving in college in 2024, recording a goal contribution in each of his first four matches (three goals, one assist), a feat never before accomplished by a freshman in Wolverine history. He finished his freshman campaign with four goals, earning a spot on the WAC All-Freshman Team and a place on TopDrawerSoccer’s Top 100 Freshmen list (No. 46). With 10 career goals before his junior season, Emojong etched his name into the Utah Valley record book as the first to achieve this feat.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Koven Johnson has been a model of consistency for High Point University, appearing in all 35 matches across the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He made 21 starts and logged 2,019 minutes for one of the nation’s top men’s college soccer programs, anchoring the midfield with reliability and composure.

“This has been a dream for me since I was a kid, and for it to actually happen feels unreal,” Johnson said. “I can’t thank my family, friends, and teammates enough, and of course, the High Point coaching staff for helping me along this journey.”

Johnson scored his first collegiate goal against UNC Asheville on September 29 and played a key role in High Point’s historic success. During his time with the Panthers, the program captured two Big South Conference titles and recorded its best season ever in 2025, finishing 12-2-4, earning two conference trophies, and making a first-ever NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance.

Barca Residency Academy congratulates Isaac Emojong and Koven Johnson on their MLS SuperDraft selections and exceptional collegiate careers. The Academy is proud to have played a role in their development and looks forward to following their continued success.
