Alumnus Mark Bronnik Named 2025 USL One Newcomer of the Year

Barça Residency Academy alumnus Mark Bronnik has been named the 2025 USL League One Newcomer of the Year. At just 19 years old, Bronnik earned the honor after a standout first full professional season with Union Omaha, helping lead the club to its sixth consecutive postseason berth.

Bronnik, who joined Union Omaha from Barça Residency Academy in 2024, led all eligible candidates for the award with six regular-season goals, scoring at an impressive rate of one goal every 156.3 minutes across 27 appearances. He also tallied 43 shots, posted a 44.4% shooting accuracy, and recorded a 16.7% conversion rate. Additionally, he completed 15 successful dribbles at a 50% success rate, showcasing his creativity and efficiency in the attack.

The 2024 season marked Bronnik’s introduction to the professional stage, where he scored his first league goal and made three regular-season appearances as Union Omaha captured the 2024 USL League One title.

With this year’s honor, Bronnik becomes the third-youngest player to claim the Newcomer of the Year award, securing 52% of the final vote, as determined by technical staff from every club in the league.
