Casa Grande, Ariz –The Barça Residency Academy Pre-Academy U-17s, U-18s, and U-19s competed in the Dallas Cup that took place March 27 – April 4 in the greater Dallas area. Barça’s U-17s were crowned the undefeated champions of the Dallas Cup Silver Tournament after a shutout win over Real Greens FC, taking home their third first place trophy of the season.
Barça’s U-17s defeated Dallas’ Real Greens FC in the championship match by a score of 3-0. A first half goal by Shaan Malik gave Barça a 1-0 first half lead. Nathan Heredia and Stetson Milligan scored in the second half to secure the 3-0 win.

Route to the Final
The U-17s began then their tournament journey on Friday, April 1st with a strong 6-0 shutout win over FC Dallas Youth. They topped Lincoln FC (IL) 4-1 the following day with goals by Nathan Heredia, Anthony Huang, Trace Higham, and Ming Zhao. Less than 24 hours later, Anthony Huang netted four goals and lead Barça to a 4-3 win over Dallas’ Solar SC to advance to the final.
With the Dallas Cup Championship under their belt, Barça Residency Academy has taken home at least one first place trophy from every tournament that the pre-academy teams have competed in this season.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Pre-Academy U-17s and U-18s will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah to compete in USYS Desert Conference regional matches April 9-10.
