Casa Grande, Ariz – After recording an undefeated gameday vs. City SC last weekend, Barca Residency Academy’s MLS Next teams completed another undefeated gameday as they went up against Albion SC San Diego at Grande Sports on Saturday morning. Barca’s four teams went on to score nine goals while only conceding three from the opposition, gathering a total of 8 points in the competition.
Barca Residency Academy U-19s
Barca’s U-19s collected three points with a 3-0 shutout win over Albion. Darian Castillo shined for the U19s as he scored a brace and tallied his 14th consecutive goal. Cristian Gregoire also contributed to the scoreline while Ramon Camejo kept a clean sheet in goal.
Barca Residency Academy U-17s
Barca’s U-17s battled to a 1-1 draw in a close match against Albion SC. Albion took the lead in the 40th minute of the match, but Barca responded just a minute later when Mark Bronnik scored a beautiful header to equalize just before the half. Neither team managed to create the game-winner in the second half, and they split the points.
Barca Residency Academy U-16s
Barca’s U16 earned three points on Saturday morning as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over Albion. Anthony Perez, Kevin Garcia, and Leo Orejarena got on the scoresheet as they took down Albion’s U16 side with a dominant performance.
Barca Residency Academy U-15s
Barca’s U15 team fought back from a deficit to secure a 2-2 draw vs. Albion SC. Chris Runde, who scored a brace the weekend before, came up huge for his team again as he grabbed both of Barca’s goals.
Looking Ahead
All Barca Residency Academy teams will be in action this weekend. The MLS Next teams will take on Arizona local club, Phoenix Rising FC, at Grande Sports World. Meanwhile, Barca’s Elite Academy teams will compete in the Arizona Soccer Clash tournament at Legacy Sports Park.
