Casa Grande, AZ (October 3, 2021) –The Barca Residency Academy MLS Next teams traveled to Southern California for a weekend doubleheader where they played Albion SC on Saturday and City SC on Sunday. Barca’s weekend was highlighted by a sweep of City SC on Sunday, where they scored a total of 19 goals in their four games.
On Saturday, Barca’s U-19s defeated Albion SC 4-1, the U-16s drew 1-1, while the U-15s and U-17s both fell to Albion by a score of 2-0.
Barça Residency Academy U-19s
Barca’s U-19s brought home six points over the weekend and moved to a perfect 4-0 after defeating Albion SC 4-1 on Saturday and City SC 8-2 on Sunday. Korede Osundina and Luca Sowinski were standouts over the weekend. Osundina scored a brace against Albion and netted a third goal on Sunday vs. City SC. Sowinski scored a hat-trick in Barca’s commanding win on Sunday.

Barça Residency Academy U-17s
Barca’s U-17s split over the weekend, falling 0-2 to Albion on Saturday and defeating City SC the following day by a score of 2-0 with goals by Idoh Zeltzer-Zubida and Moises Arciniega.
Barça Residency Academy U-16s
Barca’s U-16s collected four points over the weekend and remain unbeaten. Standout Zack Smuck extended his goal scoring streak to three games over the weekend. He netted Barca’s sole goal in their 1-1 draw on Saturday against Albion SC and added another on Sunday in their 4-0 shutout win over City SC.
Barça Residency Academy U-15s
Barca’s U-15s suffered a 0-2 loss to Albion on Saturday, but ended the weekend positively on Sunday with a 5-1 win over City SC on Sunday (Ryan Manabe 2, Sean Petrie 2, Sanjay Gerry)

All four of the Barça Residency Academy MLS NEXT teams will face in-state competitor Phoenix Rising FC at Casino Arizona Field in Scottsdale on Saturday, October 16.
