Barça Residency Academy U-15s Defeat LAUFA 4-2

Casa Grande, Ariz. – The Barça Residency Academy U-15s traveled to Los Angeles, California to face Los Angeles United Futbol Academy (LAUFA) in their second matchup of the season.

Barça Residency Academy defeated LAUFA on February 9, 2019 at home by a score of 4-2. On Saturday, the teams kicked off in a solo match at the Los Angeles City College at 8:00 p.m. where Barça Residency Academy completed a season sweep of LAUFA with a 4-2 win.

Looking to snap their victory drought, the U-15s started the game very strongly. They dominated possession of the ball and scored three goals within the first 20 minutes of the match. Dante Williams opened the scoring in the 7th minute, Diego Hernandez made it 2-0 in the 16th and Williams scored his second goal of the game in the 20th minute to give Barça Residency Academy a 3-0 advantage.

A few individual mistakes proved costly as Barça Residency Academy conceded two goals before the end of the half, bringing the score to 3-2. Barça Residency Academy was able to hold off LAUFA’s pressure in the second half and Diego Hernandez made it 4-2 in the 69th minute to secure the result for Barça Residency Academy.

“I am very proud of the boy and how they performed the entire 80 minutes of the game,” said head coach Daniel Antunez. “They all displayed very good work ethic and determination to see the game through and get the 4-2 win.”

LOOKING AHEAD

All three Academy teams will return to action May 11, 2019 as they host Strikers FC at Grande Sports World – Home of Barça Residency Academy in the second to last triple header of the season.
