Barça Residency Academy U15 and U19 are Arsenal Challenge Champions

Casa Grande, AZ (October 12, 2021) – Barca Residency Academy’s U-15 and U-19 Pre-Academy teams competed in the 2021 Arsenal Challenge in the Phoenix area over the weekend. Both teams were crowned tournament champions with undefeated 4-0 records. The U-15s and U-19s scored a combined 28 goals while only allowing four over the weekend.

A Barca Residency Academy team has taken home a championship trophy in every tournament they’ve competed in since October of 2020.

2021 Arsenal Challenge U-19 Gold Champions

Barca’s U-19s faced their toughest opponent, SC del Sol, on Saturday morning that resulted in a 1-0 win after a goal by Owen Rich. They followed up with a huge 7-1 win over AYSO United where Jacob Pearl scored his first hat-trick of the tournament, Abhi Rajaiyan, Jake Lane, and Muntader Almaliky contributed the other goals.

On Sunday, Jacob Pearl scored his second hat-trick of the tournament as Barca topped Renegades Soccer Club 4-1, Lane netted the other. Barca comfortably beat tournament hosts Arizona Arsenal SC in the final by a score of 3-0 behind a brace from Lane and a goal by Lex Smith.

2021 Arsenal Challenge U-15 Silver Champions

Barca U-15s shutout both of their opponents on Saturday, beating SC del Sol 3-0 (Sam Arnold, Micah Dorant-Smith, and Jonathan Chinnam) and Vail SC 5-0 with a hat-trick from Micah Dorant-Smith and goals by Lucus Olari and Sam Arnold.

Barca’s U-15s entered day two tied at the top of the group stage table with Brazas Futebol Club, who they faced on Sunday morning for the right to advance to the championship. Barca prevailed victorious against Brazas beating them 3-1 with goals by Micah Dorant-Smith, Johnathan Chinnam, and Tiago Lecour who scored is first goal of the season.

Micah Dorant-Smith scored a brace to propel the U-15s over Arizona SC 2-1 in the final. Dorant-Smith finished the weekend with seven goals over four games.
