Barca Residency Academy forward Bryce Jamison has been named a 2022 MLS Next All-Star

Bryce Jamison Named to Inaugural MLS Next All-Star Team

Barca Residency Academy standout, Bryce Jamison, has been selected as a part of the roster for the inaugural MLS Next All-Star Game, presented by Allstate. The first of its kind, this game will provide a world-class experience for the best young players in North America to showcase their talent on a national stage.

The match will feature 45 players in an East versus West format at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. on Wednesday, August 10 at 11:00 AM CT. One of the five non-MLS academy players selected, Jamison will represent team West in the All-Star Game.

The sixteen-year-old Atlanta, Georgia native joined Barca Residency Academy from Atlanta United Academy ahead of the 2021-22 season and has since been a member of both Barca’s U-17 and U-19 teams. Jamison was called up to the Barca Residency Academy U-19 team mid-season and played an important role in helping his squad secure their second consecutive MLS Next Playoff berth. This summer, Jamison scored Barca’s sole goal in their first-round MLS Next Playoff match vs. FC Dallas that resulted in a 1-1 draw (5-6 loss in PKs).

The All-Star Match will be streamed live and further tune-in details will be available at a later date. Admission to the MLS NEXT All-Star Game at the National Sports Center is free of cost.

The 45 players were chosen by the MLS NEXT Player Selection Committee, which is made up of key MLS Player Development department personnel, following the conclusion of the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase. Players must have been U-18 (born in 2004 or earlier) and have competed in one of the MLS NEXT national showcase events this season, including MLS NEXT Fest, MLS NEXT Flex, Generation Adidas Cup, and MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase.
