Diego Luna Named 2025 MLS All-Star, Continues Remarkable Rise

The accolades keep coming for Barça Residency Academy alumnus Diego Luna, who was officially named to the 2025 MLS All-Star roster today by Major League Soccer. The Real Salt Lake and U.S. Men’s National Team standout earns his second consecutive All-Star selection and joins global icon Lionel Messi, along with fellow USMNT players Patrick Agyemang, Max Arfsten, Sebastian Berhalter, Alex Freeman, Miles Robinson, and Brian White, among the 26 players selected for this year’s squad.

At just 21 years old, Diego Luna becomes the first Real Salt Lake player in nearly a decade to be named an MLS All-Star in back-to-back seasons. He currently leads RSL with eight goals and four assists in 2025, already matching his goal tally from last season as he continues to emerge as one of the league’s most dynamic young talents.

Luna’s performances have also caught the attention of U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Mauricio Pochettino. After impressing during January camp, Luna stood out in the March Nations League window and has since become a vital piece of the U.S. squad during the ongoing CONCACAF Gold Cup. As a passionate playmaker and emotional leader, Luna will look to guide the U.S. into the semifinals as they face Costa Rica this Sunday in the Quarterfinals in Minneapolis.

The 2025 MLS All-Star Game will showcase the best talent in North America when the MLS All-Stars take on the top players from Mexico’s LIGA MX on Wednesday, July 23, at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
