Barca Residency Academy’s Douglas Carbajal was called up to the U17 Guatemala Men’s National Team and attended a training camp that took place December 9-12 in Guatemala. Head coach Rigoberto Gómez and the U17 team intensely trained as they continued preparations for the the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Concacaf qualifying tournament will be held from February 7 to 16, 2025 on Guatemalan soil and will award eight direct places for the world competition. The selected players trained at the High Performance Centre, where the coaches worked with the team to fine-tune his tactical ideas ahead of the qualifying competition.

Carbajal, now in his second season at Barca Residency Academy, competes with the U-17 MLS NEXT team after a successful campaign with the U-15 MLS NEXT squad two seasons ago. He has previously earned call-ups to the Guatemala National Team, showcasing his talent on the international stage. Additionally, Carbajal was invited to a U.S. Soccer Identification Center during his first season at Barca Residency Academy.
