Casa Grande, Ariz – Barça Residency Academy would like to congratulate their 11 seniors who have signed a National Letter of Intent to further their academic and athletic career at NCAA universities beginning in the fall of 2021.
Barça Residency Academy’s annual National Letter of Intent Dinner took place on February 2 at the Francisco Grande Ballroom with the senior class and a few staff members present. The event was live streamed for family, friends, and staff to watch as each signee delivered a speech and proudly signed their NLI.
The following student-athletes signed their letter of intent on Tuesday:
David Cordes, California Baptist University
Julian Gaines, Oregon State University
Angel Ramirez, Cleveland State University
Ismael Hernandez, Fort Lewis College
Luke Husakiwsky, University of North Carolina, Charlotte
Miles Lyons, University of Portland
Ocean Salari, California State Polytechnic University
Felix Schmidt, New Jersey Institute of Technology
Jason Smith, Utah Valley University
Armando Torres, University of Portland
Dante Williams, University of Akron
Felix Schmidt and Dante Williams joined Barça Residency Academy in its inaugural season, they are a part of the Academy’s first four-year graduating class. David Cordes, Angel Hernandez, Ismael Hernandez, Luke Husakiwsky, and Miles Lyons have been a part of the Academy for three seasons, while Julian Gaines, Ocean Salari, and Jason Smith are in their second season with the Academy. Armando Torres joined the Academy this season as a gap-year player and signed with the University of Portland in January to join the Pilots for their 2021 Spring season.

The NCAA’s National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. By signing an NLI, the student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year, while the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year.
