Homegrown Teams Shine with Six Wins in Doubleheader Weekend

Barca Residency Academy’s MLS NEXT Homegrown teams took center stage this weekend as they hosted Real Salt Lake–Arizona and FC Golden State at Grande Sports World – Home of Barça Residency Academy. The Homegrown sides combined for six wins and two losses across the two matchups, highlighted by a dominant sweep over in-state competitor RSL-AZ.

Barca Residency Academy opened the weekend on a high note with commanding performances and a sweep over RSL-AZ. The teams found their rhythm early and maintained control throughout each match, showcasing sharp attacking play and strong finishes across all age groups.

  • U-19s: W 4–1 (Avalos, Cisneros ×2, Carlson)
  • U-17s: W 5–2 (Stoddard, Kieffer, Vela, Anguiano, Martins)

Barca wrapped up the weekend with a hard-fought series against Southern California’s FC Golden State, finishing with two wins and two narrow defeats. The U-16s and U-17s posted impressive shutout victories, while the U-15s dropped their first match of the season in a close contest.
