Casa Grande, AZ (August 3, 2021) – Major League Soccer announced last week that Barca Residency Academy alumnus Julian Araujo has been named to the 28-man roster for the 2021 MLS All-Star Game. Araujo’s first MLS All-Star game selection of his young career.
In three seasons with LA Galaxy, the defender has registered one goal and eight assists in 50 regular-season appearances (44 starts) for the Galaxy. This season, Araujo is tied for the team-lead in assists (4) in 15 games played (15 starts). At the international level, Araujo made his first appearance for the U.S. Men’s National Team, starting and tallying an assist in 74 minutes of action in a 6-0 friendly win over El Salvador on Dec. 9, 2020.
Araujo will be joined by teammate Chicharito in the history-making game against the best of LIGA MX. The game will take place on August 25 at 9:00pm ET/6pm PT at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on FS1, Univision, TSN and TVA Sports.
