Barca Residency Academy’s MLS NEXT Academy teams celebrated their first undefeated matchday of the season this past weekend. In a rare single-fixture slate, the Academy hosted in-state rivals Phoenix Premier and delivered three wins and a draw in a series of tightly contested matches at Grande Sports World.
The U-16s opened the day with a 2-1 win behind goals from Gunnar Gaul and Malik Jackson. The U-19s followed in a back-and-forth battle that ended in a 2-2 draw, highlighted by a brace from Gerardo Carrillo. In the afternoon, the U-17s secured a 2-1 victory with Tyler Parady and Nicholas Kazazian on the scoresheet. The U-15s capped off the weekend with a composed 2-0 win, as Tobe Ezeanolue and Greyson Lenz sealed the Academy’s first undefeated matchday of the season.
