Barca Residency Academy’s MLS Next teams were the only squads in action over the weekend, as the Elite Academy teams enjoyed a break ahead of the 2025 President’s Day Tournament, set for February 14-17 in Mesa, AZ.
Facing off against local club SC del Sol for the second time this season, Barca Residency Academy delivered another undefeated performance, securing four wins and completing a perfect 8-0 sweep of their in-state competitor this year.

Barca Residency took the field on Saturday against a familiar opponent, with simultaneous kickoffs at 9:00 and 11:00 AM. The U16 and U19 teams led the charge, setting the tone for the day with a pair of shutout victories—5-0 for the U16s and 1-0 for the U19s.
The momentum carried into the later matches, as the U15s claimed a 2-0 victory and the U17s edged out a 2-1 win, coming just shy of a clean sheet across all four matches.

Looking Ahead
The MLS Next teams will now shift focus to the upcoming away doubleheader in Southern California, where they will face LA Surf on Saturday before taking on Murrieta Soccer Academy on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Elite Academy teams will return to action at the 46th Annual President’s Day Tournament (PDT), competing at the Arizona Athletic Grounds and Reach 11 Sports Complex.
