Barca Residency Academy’s Elite Academy teams competed in the 46th edition of the Presidents’ Day Tournament last weekend at the Arizona Athletic Grounds, facing top competition from across the country. The prestigious, invitation-only event is one of the premier youth tournaments in the U.S., attracting elite clubs and college scouts nationwide.
Barca’s U19 Elite Academy team delivered a dominant performance, going undefeated (4-0) en route to being crowned champions of their bracket. The squad, led by head coach Cesar Cambisaca, secured victories over Mt. Rainier Futbol Club (WA) 3-0, Boreal FC (MN) 2-1, and FC Deportivo (AZ) 4-3 in the group stage. In the championship match, they convincingly defeated Tonka Fusion Elite (MN) 3-1, adding another first-place trophy to Barca Residency Academy’s growing list of first-place finishes at the competitive event.
Barca’s U16 and U17 Elite Academy teams also had strong showings at the tournament, finishing third and fourth in their respective brackets.
The Presidents’ Day Tournament has long been a proving ground for top youth talent, providing a competitive platform for players to test themselves against elite opposition while gaining exposure to college recruiters.
