Barca Residency Academy’s U19 Elite Academy team took home the tournament title after dominating the competition at the 2023 Arizona Soccer Clash that took place at Legacy Sports Complex over the weekend. Coach Jack Mathis and his U19s finished a perfect 4-0 at the tournament. Barca scored a total of 21 goals while only allowing three goals from their opponents.
On Saturday, Barca kicked off the tournament with 3-0 wins over both RSL-AZ and Real Salt Lake. Barca’s biggest test came on Sunday morning when they battled to a hard-fought 4-3 win over New Mexico Soccer Academy to advance to the tournament final. In the final, Barca dominated RSL-AZ Central as they poured in eleven goals and kept a clean sheet to victory.
