Barca Residency Academy midfielder Gavin Baker has been called up to the Guam Football Association U23 Men’s National Team for the Asian Football Confederation (ACF) U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 Qualifiers that will take place September 6-12 in Viet Tri City, Vietnam.
Baker, 16, competed with Guam’s U17 National Team last year makes the jump to the U23 team as they push to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Guam was drawn into Group C with Vietnam, Singapore, and Yeman. Guam’s opener will be against the home country, Vietnam, on September 6. They will face Singapore on September 9 and Yemen on September 12. All matches will be played at the Pakansari Stadium in Viet Tri Stadium, Viet Tri City.
The winning team from each of the 11 groups and the top four second-place group finishers will join Finals host Qatar in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 Finals scheduled for April 15 to May 3, 2024. The final round serves as the AFC qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament.
