Casa Grande, AZ – Barca Residency Academy midfielder Sean Petrie has been called up to the United States U-16 Men’s Youth National Team for the 2023 International Dream Cup taking place in Japan, Netherlands, and Nigeria from May 25 to June 5.
Head coach Michael Nsien has called up 21 players for the competition, his third event in charge since taking over the U-16 MYNT last November. Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2007 are age-eligible for this U-16 MYNT cycle. All are eligible for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, set for this November/December with the host country still to be confirmed.
Petrie, fresh off a trial at FC Barcelona’s La Masia and the MLS Next regular season, will join the U-16 USMNT for his first international tournament representing the stars and stripes.
